They operate across 3 offices in the Midlands, North-East and Scotland.

The company and group are cash rich with an extraordinary pipeline of work spread across various blue chip retail clients. These end clients are household names that you come across every day. As mentioned, there is a good spread across clients so not all the eggs are in one basket. They are an entirely relationship driven business and pride themselves on the fact that over 70% of their workload is negotiated with existing clients that they have built relationships with.

The Role

You will be walking into a well-structured business with layers of management to support you in your new role. There will also be a team of varying level Surveyors to support you and relying on your leadership.

General duties will include:

  • Ensure robust, accurate and timely cost and value reporting at both project and business unit level
  • Ensure accurate cash flow reporting takes place
  • Carry out cost management including forecasting
  • Update the monthly CVR, cost and commercial plans and have accountability, along with the project team for the commercial performance and strategy
  • Help ensure that commercial processes are adhered to across the business unit
  • Actively seek to improve and understand processes and procedures
  • Ensure that any main contracts entered have terms and conditions that are appropriate, with commercial risks identified
  • Ensure that the supply chain are engaged appropriately with the correct contract terms and conditions
  • Ensure that good client relationships are fostered
  • Be responsible for subcontract letting, negotiation and financial accounting
  • Effectively assist in managing the commercial team, including cost clerks and commercial support staff
  • Ensure effective interaction between the commercial team and the operational site teams Supervise and mentor Quantity Surveyors
